The recent 7.0 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Northern California served as a stark reminder of the state's vulnerability to tsunamis.
Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman is facing allegations of sexual assault from two women. These allegations were made public through a podcast by Tortoise Media and have been denied by Gaiman.
The two women, identified only as Scarlett and K, allege incidents of non-consensual sexual acts during past relationships with Gaiman. Scarlett, a 23-year-old former nanny for Gaiman's child, claims an assault occurred in February 2022. K alleges an encounter in 2003, when she was 18, where Gaiman disregarded her request to stop due to a medical condition.
Gaiman has released a statement strongly refuting all allegations. He claims the encounters with both women were consensual. In the case of Scarlett, Gaiman acknowledges a brief physical encounter but maintains it did not progress beyond cuddling and kissing.
New Zealand police investigated the complaint filed by Scarlett and determined there wasn't enough evidence to press charges at this time.
