The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall of over 2,001 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken products due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

  • Brand: Al Safa Halal
  • Product: 12.1-oz. package of "Al Safa Halal Charcoal Grilled Chicken Seekh Kebab Grilled, Minced, Chicken Patty Kebab"
  • Establishment Number: "866" inside the Canadian mark of inspection
  • Production Date: June 5, 2024
  • Distribution: Nationwide in the United States

What to Do:

  • Do not consume the recalled chicken products.
  • Check your freezer for the recalled items.
  • Throw away any recalled products you find.
  • Return the recalled products to the place of purchase for a full refund.                                     

Why the Recall?

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, including fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of serious Listeria infection.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
