Andre Drummond Heads Back to Philly: Joins 76ers on a 2-Year Deal

The Philadelphia 76ers have bolstered their frontcourt with the addition of veteran center Andre Drummond. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Drummond has agreed to a two-year deal worth $10 million

This marks a return to familiar territory for Drummond, who played for the 76ers during the 2021-22 season. He'll provide much-needed depth as a backup to star center Joel Embiid, who has battled injuries in recent years.

Drummond, a four-time NBA rebounding champion, is coming off a season with the Chicago Bulls where he averaged a solid 8.4 points and 9 rebounds per game. While his offensive production has dipped in recent years, his rebounding prowess remains a valuable asset.

The 76ers, reportedly pursuing star forward Paul George, are clearly prioritizing building a strong supporting cast around Embiid. Drummond's presence adds size and rebounding, crucial elements for a championship contender.

The terms of the deal are team-friendly for the 76ers. The $10 million price tag allows them to maintain some financial flexibility in their pursuit of other players.

This move signifies the 76ers' intent to compete at the highest level. Drummond brings experience and a winning pedigree to the table, solidifying their frontcourt and bolstering their title aspirations.
